托福口語:關于“微笑”的英文短語分享

1、put on a smile on your face “面帶微笑”
“put on”有“穿上”的意思，比如put on my coat “穿上我的外套”，也可以說：wear my coat，所以“我經常面帶微笑”也可以是：I usually wear a smile on my face.
2、smile 既可以作名詞，也可以作動詞。
作名詞，比如 a friendly smile“友好的微笑”
再比如 manage a smile “強顏歡笑”，也可以說 force a smile
Although he felt exhausted, he still managed a smile in the end.
雖然他很疲憊了，但最后還是勉強笑了一下
作動詞，比如smile at sb“對某人微笑”
Tom smiles at her and greets her warmly.
Tom對她微笑著，熱情地跟她打招呼。
再比如smile to oneself表示 開心地笑
He read the message on his phone and smiled to himself.
他讀著那條消息，開心地笑了。
3、there is no need to do sth “不必做某事”
I think there is no need to manage a smile if you don’t want to.
我覺得，如果你不想強顏歡笑，就不必強顏歡笑。
口語中，我們也可以用there’s no need to do sth 表示“不要做某事”
比如：There’s no need to shout in public!
公共場合不要大聲喊叫!
4、screw sb up【非正式】表示“使某人很不愉快”
比如It screwed her up when her bestie betrayed her and pretended to smile at her.
她閨蜜背叛她還對她假笑，這使她非常難過。
screw作名詞有“螺絲釘”的意思，動詞可以表示“用螺絲鉚住”，那么“screw up the courage to do sth”就可以表示“鉚足了勇氣做某事”
比如：Finally, I screwed up the courage to propose to her.
終于，我鼓足了勇氣去跟她求婚。
5、dimple “酒窩”
感覺 笑起來 有酒窩的臉龐(dimpled cheeks)都非常上鏡，小編對于dimpled cheeks真是毫無抵抗力。
“上鏡的”可以說：photogenic
比如題庫里“Do you smile when people take pictures of you?”
就可說：Sure. when I smile in a picture, my dimpled cheeks make me look more photogenic.
